PROBLEM

Rulers are less accurate when on a curved surface. Holding a standard ruler over a wound or bullet hole is less accurate when it’s not in the same plain. At 4 cm, the difference is 0.5 cm. The standard ruler would imply that the wound or bullet hole is smaller than reality.
